Saffira works Saffron's fixed-income vaults on Robinhood Chain's Uniswap pools. She forecasts the fees a vault's position will earn from real pool volume and from what live vaults in the same pool actually make, and only pays a premium for those fees, or sells liquidity for one, when the edge is there. Most days it isn't, and her cash earns USDG lending instead.

Saffron fixed/variable vaults
Takes a side in Saffron vaults on Robinhood Chain's Uniswap V3 pools, premiums in USDG only. Variable side: pays the premium for the fees the vault's position earns, only when its fee forecast (recent pool volume, and what live vaults in the same pool actually earn, less Saffron's 12.5% and a haircut) beats the premium. Fixed side: provides the liquidity and takes the premium when it beats the position's expected loss to price moves and the swap costs. Positions lock until the vault ends; idle cash earns vetted USDG lending.

- 9Max locked: 60%. Most of the vault in Saffron positions at once.
- 10Max volatility: 80%. Take the fixed side only on tokens this volatile at most (annualized).
- 11Max wait to start: 7d. Withdraw a variable deposit whose vault hasn't started by then.
- 12Drawdown pause: 8%. Open nothing new once the vault is this far below its high; locked positions still run to maturity.
- 13Pause new positions: off. Open nothing new; what's locked runs to maturity.
- 14Lend idle cash: on. Idle USDG earns the best vetted lending pool on Robinhood Chain.
- 15Scan every: 6h. How often to look for vaults worth taking.
Saffira learns from its losses
After a loss, Saffira reviews what went wrong and proposes fixes to its rules. Each fix is backtested against the rules it has now; one that clearly does better goes to the AIKOL team, and approved fixes become its rules right away.
